Apps

An app, built properly.

If your idea needs an app on the phone, I build native apps for iPhone and Android. I listen to what you are trying to do first, because the best app is sometimes the smallest one.

Who this is for

Business owners and founders with an idea that needs to live on a phone, who want someone to turn it into something real without drowning them in jargon. I have about five years of experience building software.

How I work with you

  1. We talk first

A free chat about what you want people to be able to do. I will tell you honestly whether you need an app at all, or whether a good website would do the job.

  2. I design and build it

Native apps for iPhone and Android, designed to feel right on each. You see it working on a real phone while it is being made.

  3. I launch it and keep it healthy

I look after getting it into the app stores, and afterwards the updates that keep it working as phones change.

What you get

  • A native app for iPhone, Android, or both
  • Design that feels at home on each kind of phone
  • Accounts, payments or bookings if your idea needs them
  • Help getting it approved and published in the app stores
  • Updates and fixes after launch from the person who built it

Proof

Furtherly

Furtherly is a job search product for students and graduates, with accounts, pricing and a dashboard. I built it, and I run the company behind it. So I know what it takes to turn an idea into a product people use.

Honest answers

How much does an app cost?

Every project is different, so every price is too. The size of the idea matters most: what people can do in it, whether it needs accounts or payments, and whether it is for one kind of phone or both. I work on my own, so there are no account managers or agency overheads in what you pay. After our first conversation I will give you an honest figure.

Do I actually need an app?

Not always. Plenty of businesses are better served by a good website, which is quicker and easier to change. If that is the case I will say so, even though it means a smaller job for me.

Which phones will it work on?

I build native apps for iPhone and Android. We can start with one and add the other later if that suits your budget better.

Who looks after it afterwards?

I do, if you want me to. Phones and app stores change often, so I would rather stay around and keep it working than hand you something that goes stale.
